GASTRONOMY OCAÑERA 





This blog is created so that people know a little about our Ocañera gastronomic tradition.

I love my city very much, so I want many people to know something about our traditional food.

The pan ocañero has become a gastronomic delight at the national level.

Another food that visitors to Ocaña adore is the cebollitas ocañeras that can be accompanied with the famous ajiaco, the arepa con queso, among other foods.

There are companies in the region that distribute our famous pan ocañero; one of those companies is Tu Pan Gourmet.




AREPA OCAÑERA


The typical main dish is the arepa ocañera, especially the one with cheese, it is made of stacked corn and is the daily food of the ocañeros.

Another very common way to accompany the arepa ocañera is with avocado and cheese.









BARBATUSCAS 



We collect the barbatuscas ourselves. People prepare them at home.

There are different recipes; there is ground meat with barbatuscas, we also find scrambled eggs with barbatuscas; this last recipe is the best known in the region.







CEBOLLITAS OCAÑERAS


These cebollitas ocañeras are known in Colombia for their spicy and delicious flavor that together with the added vinegar form a great combination.

The cebollitas ocañeras are grown in the region and then prepared to accompany different ocañeras meals.



 




COCOTAS 


The most desired fruit is the famous cocota, which is not found in any other region of the country.
